About Us

 

Launched in 2000, (so celebrating it’s sixteenth anniversary next year), the Milltek Sport Volkswagen Racing Cup is widely regarded as the most exciting saloon car championship in the UK.  For 2016, we will be yet again the only saloon support race in the prestigious British GT Championship package.

 

The good news is that we are expecting 2016 to be the most successful year in the Championship’s history.  We’ve got an exciting new-look for the cars and a continuation of our terrific title-sponsor in Milltek Sport.  There are new cars in-build, new teams and new drivers joining us, from novices to Touring Car drivers.  We expect to have full grids all year, making the Milltek Volkswagen Racing Cup by far the most successful manufacturer-backed race championship in the UK.

 

 

The current committee comprises of Stewart Lines, Simon Tomlinson & Nicki Lines.

 

We have always negotiated hard to reduce grid costs where possible and use money from sponsors as a balancing factor when calculating on entry fees.

 

We aim for all race events to be sociable, with barbecues featuring during the season and the now legendary ‘End of Season Bash’ and award ceremony, which is always an entertaining evening, with 100 + guests (and some VERY late nights!).

 

In summary, we will work hard to provide the best stage for our competitors to race, in a friendly, open and honest environment.
